Delicious homemade food. Great staff and great lunch atmosphere. Chicken fried chicken and cooked cabbage never fails. I ordered my holiday pumpkin pie for Thanksgiving as well.

One of the most overrated places to eat I Houston. This is Cajun food for the elderly. Bland and low salt. Gumbo is so bland and uninspired it's inedible (contrast with the exceptional Cajun at zydecos a few blocks away, at half the cost). Cafeteria style, so it's a quick place to get lunch. Chicken fried chicken is pretty good, if pricey and small portioned. Seriously the food is so bland it's like food served in an old folk's home.

Treebeards has been around for more than 30 yrs. It is still as good as the very first time I tried it back in the 90’s. The cafeteria style is fast and the food is amazing. The fried catfish and red beans & rice are the best you will find anywhere. This place is an institution. I hope it continues to be around for many years to come. The people that work here are SO nice…. and all the desserts are wonderful!💕💕

Planned to meet friends for lunch. We each traveled from distant parts of Houston. When we arrived, we were told by construction workers the facility was closed for maintenance. It would have been nice if they had updated their website.

Hadn’t dined at Treebeards in a while, and was considering a healthy option as I drove past the church. The food is every bit as great as I remember it!

I absolutely love Treebeard's. The food is fresh, hot, and flavorful. Red beans and rice with cheese and onions are my favorite. It is perfect for this rainy day. I decided to treat myself with the moist and delicious yellow cake with chocolate icing it makes any good day even better.

Great comfort food! I usually go for the red beans and rice with sausage, but lately I have tried the catfish and meatloaf. There is nothing on the menu that isn’t great!

Today was my first and last visit to this location. I love Treebeards but I’ll never step foot in there again. The employee serving me practically berated me in front of my coworkers and patrons over a misunderstanding about gravy. I thought he was asking if I wanted some and he got angry when I said no thank you. He was awful to me for no reason and none of the other employees spoke up. If I could go back in time I would have walked out. Usually I like to extend grace but the fact he kept going on and on about the misunderstanding further escalated the situation. I have some guilt leaving a bad review but that man was having a bad day and he chose to take it out on me, I don’t think that was fair.
